MyFuture

Community sports project - making a real difference to young people’s lives.

Committed to helping young people enjoy sport

Mytime Active is committed to helping young people enjoy sport, aspire to do greater things, and give back to their communities. MyFuture is a project whereby every £1 invested generates £4 of projected social value. These free weekly sessions in Bromley include a range of different sports, as well as competitions and festivals. Our volunteers are focused on inspiring future generations of young people to be the best they can be through sport. Our volunteering programme promotes self-belief, self-responsibility and leadership.

Following their engagement with MyFuture, our young people have reported improvements in their personal development with:

  • 62% of participants identified an increase in self-reported confidence
  • 58% identified increased self-reported self-esteem
  • 49% identified increased self-reported leadership skills
Participant Feedback
“I wasn’t confident about my fitness and it is hard being a young mum trying to juggle everything. This project has shown me that I’m fit enough to exercise on my own and that it’s O.K to be nervous because there are plenty of others in the same position”

Krystal, 19

“Sport is my everything and the chance to do it right here on the estate is good for me and the whole community”
Alex, 16
Parent Feedback
“Because of James’ autism it’s extremely important for him to mix with people of different ages…. He looks forward to it and it forms stability in his life.”

Partner Feedback
“Many of the youths on MyFuture have been known to us for being involved in antisocial behaviour and minor crime.  The project engages them in positive activities and that’s key to their development”

Police Sergeant, Orpington
