Corporate Social Responsibility

Welcome to our Corporate Social Responsibility page.

We’re committed to making a positive difference by focussing on reducing environmental impact, supporting local communities whilst ensuring we have all the processes in place to fulfil our sustainability goals.

Environmental and Sustainability information

We are always striving to make a positive impact on the environment and our communities, and our team and our members are working hard to make a difference. Whilst we have been taking steps to tackle the challenges of the current energy crisis, we must in turn remain focused on our long-term vision. We have set ourselves the target of becoming carbon neutral in line with the UK target of 2050 and will define clear milestones for achieving this requirement in each year’s corporate plan.

Implementing our Environmental and Sustainable Plan requires a comprehensive approach that involves the collaboration of all stakeholders, including trustees, directors, management, staff and our members. By implementing sustainable practices, Mytime Active can reduce its carbon footprint while improving our operational efficiency and enhancing our environmental stewardship.

The UK government has recognised the importance of biodiversity within climate action and has set targets for nature restoration through initiatives like the 25 Year Environment Plan and the Environment Bill. Integrating biodiversity considerations into climate policies is essential for achieving carbon reduction goals while preserving and restoring the country's unique biodiversity.

Initiatives already under way include:

  • We have identified energy champions for each of our facilities. These energy champions will drive the business to achieve our energy and sustainability goals and enhance our reputation with both customers and stakeholders.
  • Our leisure centres have removed the use of blue plastic overshoes and requested members to bring in their own suitable footwear (ie flip flops).
  • Our golf courses have taken several steps to improve biodiversity and promote sustainability including: minimising the use of pesticides, identified designated areas on the courses as wildlife habitats, managed water bodies and installed bird boxes and insect houses.

As well as our initiatives, we will continue to work closely with our partners, local authorities and suppliers to ensure we are doing what we can to improve our environments and minimise our impact on our world.
