Meet the Mytime Active Team - Hannah
Hannah Jevons joined Mytime Active earlier this year as HR Business Partner, bringing over a decade of Learning and Development experience to her new role. Hannah provides advisory support across every stage of a ‘colleague’s lifecycle’ from strategic decisions about how Mytime Active manages people through to handling individual employee case work.
What drew Hannah to work for Mytime Active was the genuine connection staff have with the charity’s mission. She explains: “Our people are what really makes the difference here, and what inspires me most is how connected they are to our mission of helping people live happier, healthier lives. They genuinely love the impact we have on local communities. This creates a workplace where colleagues genuinely thrive, with many staying with us for decades and building meaningful relationships, not just with each other but with our customers too.”
Hannah’s current focus centres on talent development and succession planning. She's leading a comprehensive review of Mytime Active’s apprenticeship strategy, working to maximise the government levy funding to both attract new talent and upskill existing colleagues. Hannah says: “We’ve got some great long-standing colleagues in the organisation that have been doing their roles for some time, but they actually ‘fell’ into their current roles accidentally rather than strategically. The apprenticeship programme will address this by providing formal qualifications for experienced staff while creating pathways for newcomers in areas including human resources, marketing and information technology.
“We’ve already shown some really innovative ways of developing people internally. Just recently, one of our managers spotted someone with a marketing degree who was working in a customer facing role and offered them a summer placement in our marketing team. These kind of ‘career chats’ are becoming our new normal; for example, we’ve got people working with us part time whilst studying IT who we’ve got lined up for future apprenticeships and a supportive career pathway in our IT department. This creates a virtuous cycle where staff see clear advancement opportunities, whilst reducing turnover and building company wide knowledge.”
Hannah is also strengthening the foundation of people management by upskilling managers in employee relations. Through targeted management workshops, she’s ensuring leaders have the tools to support colleagues in areas such staff wellbeing. Hannah says: “We need to recognise that an effective workplace and supported employees starts with well equipped managers.”
For Hannah, her personal career reward comes from supporting Mytime Active’s people and driving a culture where people love to work.
