Joe Dobb tells us all about Orpington Golf Centre launches golf simulator technology
Mytime Active, the charity that manages golf, wellbeing and leisure facilities in Bromley, has invested in a state-of-the-art indoor golf simulator experience at Orpington Golf Centre.
The Green Room allows visitors to play at iconic world-class courses in an immersive setting, with incredibly accurate ball tracking. It’s designed to make golf more accessible for the local community, regardless of the British weather, and is perfect for groups of friends or family, as well as corporate or celebration fun days.
Powered by Foresight Sports technology, using FSX Play and FSX Pro software, it’s also ideal for serious golfers looking for tour-level shot data to help refine their game.
Beyond the simulator, Orpington Golf Centre will also be undergoing a series of upgrades. These include modernisation of the event space and clubhouse, a brand-new, dedicated entrance to the facility, and the addition of new social amenities, such as dartboards and a pool table.
“Exciting things are happening at Orpington Golf Centre right now,” says Joe Dobb, the newly appointed Centre Manager. “The Green Room is a fantastic new asset and is great fun. It’s indoors, immersive and available all year round. Whether you’re a regular or just giving it a go for the first time, it’s a great way to enjoy the game together.”
Joe’s appointment as Centre Manager precedes the upcoming upgrades. At just 25 years old, Joe’s rapid ascent within Mytime Active highlights a fresh chapter for the Golf Centre. A former competitive swimmer for Bromley Swimming Club, Joe joined Mytime Active four years ago as a lifeguard after graduating with a degree in Accounting and Finance. His potential was quickly recognised, leading to a series of promotions from Swimming Coordinator to Operations Manager across multiple sites, including The Spa at Beckenham, before taking the helm at Orpington.
Joe continues: “Orpington Golf Centre is a facility for everyone; membership is not required to enjoy the course, the driving range, the clubhouse, the event spaces or The Green Room. It’s a real community asset.”
