Seriously Social Day 3 - Mytime tackles Loneliness

Faced with such striking statistics around loneliness and isolation, Mytime Active has been on a mission to help local residents feel more connected, supported, and part of their community again- and the results have been genuinely uplifting.

Through its Primetime Community and Outreach Project, designed for over-60s, the team has been out and about across the borough bringing energy, movement and conversation to where people already are. From wellbeing and memory cafés to community events and church groups, the project delivers engaging talks, friendly exercise tasters, and regular weekly group exercise sessions that make getting active feel social, welcoming and fun.

Originally funded by Bromley Council’s Innovation Fund, the project has already reached more than 200 people - each one a reminder of the power of connection. Almost 70% of participants report more frequent contact with others and a real reduction in feelings of loneliness.

At its heart, Primetime is about more than exercise - it’s about laughter, conversation, confidence, and the simple joy of feeling connected again. Here’s a short vid, about one of our sessions at Home Instead - with seated exercise class run by the lovely Ann (read more about Ann here).
