What do I need to start playing golf?

Have you always fancied trying golf, but you never seem to get around to it? Do you consider golf too costly, elitist, or a male-dominated zone?

Our 16 golf courses are open to all, with sociable club houses, cheaper golf options, and a more relaxed feel to the game. What's more, practising your swing after a long day in the office is a great way to stay fit, enjoy some fresh air, stretch your legs and strengthen your grip.

We believe that everyone should have access to golf, so we've tackled some common issues below:

Haven’t played for a long while or new to golf?

Our Get Active in Golf lesson programme for beginners offers a fun introduction to all aspects of the game in a relaxed and supportive environment. If you’ve played before or you’re looking to improve your game, the improvers' lessons will help you refine your putting, chipping and pitching skills.

How much will it cost?

Our golf courses offer pay and play sessions for as little as £20 per round. A six-week course of lessons costs just £30. If you’re interested in golf coaching, you will need to check costs with your local Mytime Active golf course.

What equipment do I need?

You don’t need to own your own equipment, as we can lend you everything you need. You don't need a special outfit, either, just comfortable clothes and shoes.

When can I play and for how long?

Our golf courses are open late during the summer, so you can enjoy a game straight after work. You won’t need to commit to a lengthy 18-hole session, as our golf courses offer shorter, 9-hole games.

Are women welcome?

Traditionally, golf has always been thought of as a men’s sport. However, things are changing with an increasing number of female golf pros. Mytime Active offers women-only golfing lessons in a supportive environment.
