The Walnuts is Orpington’s Finest

Forget the Oscars - it's all about the Orpies.

The Orpington’s Finest Awards are designed to showcase the ‘best of the best’ within Orpington’s business community and to provide an opportunity to celebrate quality and service.

As finalists in the Health & Leisure category, Walnuts manager Paul Robson, duty manager Charlotte Turner and sales manager Andrew Crumley attended the black tie ceremony at Orpington’s ODEON cinema.

The envelope was opened and the Walnuts was announced as the category winner, beating off competition from the other shortlisted organisations: Ripped Gym, newcomers Pure Gym and previous winners Anytime Fitness.

Andrew, who nominated the Walnuts for the award, based his application on the work the Walnuts does in the local community, including Primetime exercise classes, the HeartSmart and FreshStart programmes, and activities for groups with additional needs including participants from Nash College.

The final results were based on an in-depth mystery shop at the leisure centre, and the win reflects the commitment and professionalism of all the Walnuts staff.

As well as a trophy, which will be proudly displayed at the centre, the win will be announced on flags to be displayed along Orpington High Street.

The award is a well-deserved recognition of the Walnuts’ contribution to local life, as well as the effort and teamwork put in by the staff.
