It's a wrap for Us Girls

Following two great years, Mytime Active’s Us Girls project has just come to an end. The project was funded by the GLA and national sports charity StreetGames UK.

We successfully engaged 250 inactive young women and girls aged 15-25, focusing on groups with limited access to sport and physical activity.

Our programme was built around a network of local community partners, ranging from Boxing4Schools to Bromley Family Nurse Partnership. Activities spanned from boxing, to dance, to swimming, with the aim of engaging young women in a relaxed, safe and nurturing environment. Our programme was delivered by fully qualified coaches and we recruited and trained a team of female champions to act as mentors, ambassadors and role models for their peers.

The outcome has been exceptional, with findings showing a significant impact on participants’ physical activity levels and their overall wellbeing six months after completion of the programme.
