The ceremony took place at London's Guildhall on Saturday 8 October. Maureen was nominated by the Kent Branch of the Society.

The Royal Lifesaving Society (RLSS) is the Drowning Prevention Charity and the UK’s leading provider of water safety education. Around 400 people needlessly die from drowning in the UK every year and thousands more suffer injury, some life-changing, through near drowning experiences.

The charity's work would not be possible without the enthusiasm and expertise of volunteers like Maureen, who use their training to educate and empower swimmers.
