Take on your friends with a fitness challenge!

Studies show that when you enjoy activities with a friend, you are much more likely to achieve your fitness goals.

Whether you’re a regular gym user or looking for some extra motivation, why not set yourself a new goal and challenge your friends at the same time?

Our fitness team have listed some popular challenges below:

30 day challenge

Agree a goal and monitor your progress using a fitness tracker. Choose a certain number of steps, reps, weight load or swimming pool lengths to complete within a 30-day period. Many apps and fitness trackers let you compete with friends online. You can also create a Facebook or WhatsApp group to encourage and motivate your friends. Book fitness classes in advance to ensure you don’t miss any training sessions.

Obstacle courses: Mud Run or Wolf Run

An outdoor obstacle course is a great way to spend some quality time with friends. But you’ll need to have a good level of fitness and be prepared to get muddy, as you’ll be physically challenged in multiple ways. As this type of challenge impacts on different parts of your body, you could decide on a group fitness training routine and train together. Why not involve your friends and test your level of endurance together at one of our TARGET30 classes?

Half or full marathon

Whether it’s just for fun or you’re looking to raise some money for charity, preparing for any type of marathon involves various forms of training not just running. You will need to build core strength and increase your stamina. Why not compare each other’s progress using a fitness tracker?
