Childhood obesity | Mytime Active

Around one third of all children in the UK are above a healthy weight.

Most children who are overweight or obese are happy, confident kids who will go on to achieve productive, fulfilling lives.

However, obese children are more likely to develop serious health problems, and to have a poor body image which might lead to eating disorders in later life. Depending on their age, between 40-70% of obese children will grow up to be obese adults.

Many parents are confused about whether changes in their child's body are normal development or signs that their child is overweight or obese, and they may worry about bringing up such a sensitive subject..
